Message from the Headteacher
Additional Day of School Closure: Monday 9th of June
There is a raft of changes intended for Key Stage 3 and GCSE courses to begin in September of this year. In recognition of the pressures this places on schools to prepare for these changes the Government has authorised all maintained schools in England to have an additional closure day this year, to be taken at a time that is most suitable for the school to make arrangements for staff working, and a possible requirement for input from external agencies. For this reason it was not possible to state the closure day on the calendar issued at the beginning of the academic year.
In order to give you as much notice as possible, and therefore time to make alternative arrangements for the supervision of your child(ren), we can now inform you that Bradfield School has decided that it will take this closure day on Monday 9th of June, and that school will therefore be closed for students on that day.
I hope that you will understand the necessity for this measure, which is intended to ensure that we continue to offer our students the opportunity for a first class education which will allow them to achieve to the maximum of their potential.
Mr D M Conway
Headteacher
