STUDENTS SIGNING OUT OF SCHOOL
Please note that the procedures below should be followed before students are allowed to leave school during the day.
1. A dated note signed by a parent should be brought stating the reason why the student needs to leave.
2. At the start of lesson, the student shows the letter to his/her subject teacher who should sign it. Five minutes before the student is due to leave school, he/she should go to student resources and show the letter to a member of resources staff.
3. A resources staff member will complete an official Authorisation Absence Pass, which will be issued to the student when he/she signs out of school, and photocopy the student’s letter.
4. Please note, truancy patrols have been developed within Sheffield and students should ensure they carry the authorisation with them in case they are challenged whilst out of school.
