Mobile Phone Policy

Mobile telephones are allowed on school premises as long as they are switched off and kept in the student's bag from 8:40am until 3:05pm.. They are not to be used during the school day.

Any student found with a mobile telephone during the above times, either switched on or off, will have it confiscated and it will only be returned, by prior arrangement, to a responsible adult between 3:15pm and 4:00pm.  To make arrangements to collect a mobile telephone, please contact school Reception on 0114 2863 861.

We are aware that this may not be a popular decision but it has to be taken in the interests of all our students' safety and education.  Students have access to a landline pay telephone situated in the main Reception area, which accepts denominations of 10p, 20p, 50p and £1.

Mobile Phones and Examinations

Mobile Phones must not be taken into an examination room.  Possession of these unauthorised items (including mobile phones, i-pods and MP3/4 players) is an infringement of exam regulations and could result in disqualification from the current examination and the overall qualification.
Exam candidates are advised that mobile phones in particular MUST NOT be in their possession whether switched or not.
